Chris Lovell, Inventor and Founder, is a native North Iowan, but after experiencing a few mild Texas winters, his tolerance for snow had waned.  He and his wife, Morgan, moved back to their hometown of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Chris found himself in his driveway, in January, with a lot of snow to move.  He had a traditional, polypro pushing shovel, and he was attempting to bust through drifts that were two feet tall.  He manipulated the shovel every way he could, but nothing was ergonomic, efficient, or comfortable.  “Remind me: why did we move back here again?” he asked out loud.

He rammed the grip into his stomach and leaned forward to drive the snow.  It worked, but it was painful and unwieldy.  “Surely, something exists to solve this problem,” Chris thought.  He scoured the Internet, but he couldn’t find a product that he could use to lean and drive with his body instead of straining with his arms and back.  So he decided to make his own.

What began as a crude prototype became a proof of concept, which became a patent, which after two years of product development, became the Lovell Shovel.  Throughout the process, a deep passion for the product grew, as it is truly the easiest, safest, and fastest way to shovel snow.  It is so much more comfortable, intuitive, and efficient than anything else out there.  First time users are often taken by surprise: "Wow, you can absolutely fly through the snow!" and "This thing is like a hot knife through butter."  The Lovell Shovel is a game changer.

The ergonomics sector continues to grow, and consumers spend hundreds of millions of dollars on new snow shovels each year.  The opportunity for market success - and for millions of people's lives to be enhanced - is huge.

That is why The Lovell Company is seeking Intellectual Property licensees or purchasers to bring the Lovell Shovel to the masses.  With a low cost of manufacturing and the ability to retrofit any hollow-shafted snow shovel, the Lovell Shovel can cost-effectively enhance an existing product line or form a new line of its own.  Plus, the Lovell Shovel's broad patent protection allows licensees or purchasers the freedom to innovate and the peace of mind to know their investment is protected.  Interested parties can contact The Lovell Company here.

The Lovell Shovel was born from distress.
